We offer special discount costume rental rates for school productions (Elementary, Junior High and High School). Free extensions to 7 day rather the 3. Apply for the Teacher discount card and receive an extra 10% discount.
FIELD TRIPS
We are happy to host field trips at Theatre Garage! But you must let us know at least a week before bringing your class and have approve by Christy. We can host a maximum class size of 30 (including school staff) per visit. We will offer a tour and explain what a day-to-day workday at Theatre Garage is like to your class and a Q & A on working in the film/theatre industry. Best for grades 7 and up. Tour is about an hour. We have room in parking lot or street for school buses (free parking).
We prefer no backpacks, no food or drink while visiting Theatre Garage.
MAKEUP WORKSHOPS
We also offer in-school makeup workshops! All our makeup workshops are taught by professional makeup artist working in the film/theatre industry. We can teach on any makeup technique you like.
Teachers need to be present during the workshop. Maximum of 32 students, minimum of 15 students. We supply all the makeup and tools needed. All makeup will be used in workshop, if you want extra makeup left behind after the workshop please inquire about extra supplies to purchase.
Some of the most common workshops are:
Beginner SFX Makeup
This workshop is a introduction to special effects makeup. This workshop is designed for students that have never used SFX makeup OR to brush up on their skills. In this workshop students will use latex, wax and crème colors to learn different techniques of wound and bruise making. Students will paint arms and hands on themselves. Or students can work in pairs to each other faces.

Burns and Blisters FX Makeup
Each student will work with crème liners to make a realistic burn using special effects techniques. Students will also work with liquid latex, gel and multiple types of blood develop differnet kinds of wounds abd blisters. This workshop is great for students that love SFX and keeps their attention because of the fun materials used. Students will paint their own arms and/or hands.

Old Age Makeup
This workshop is very fun for the students that have previously worked with SFX makeup. Students will paint a partners face using aging makeup techniques. This workshop is especially good for drama classes.

Zombie Makeup
After students have practiced SFX makeup it is really fun to try character makeup. Zombie makeup is a great way to learn new techinques and has endless creative possiblities. Students will try the special techniques on the arms and a partners face. Techniques include pulling flesh, sunken eye look with creme colors, bleeding wounds and more!

Clown Makeup
The act of clowning is becoming very popular again! This workshop is a great beginner to advance facepainting experience. Students can design and paint a partners face as to the charcter they designed. This workshop works great for drama classes. We can send a design sheet ahead of workshop for students to design their makeup look before workshop.

Face and body Paint Makeup
This is a very fun and creative workshop for all students. Students will learn all about the different types of makeup and their application: aqua piants, crème, alcohol and even air brush! Students will play with the different types of makeup by hand painting their hands and arms and using stencils.

Cosplay Makeup
As cosplay gets more and more popular we have more students asking for cosplay makeup application. This workshop explores the more common cosplay makeup application. Students will test the different techniques on their arms and partners faces. If students want paint their own faces schools will need to provide mirrors.

FLEX Makeup Class
This is an exciting upportunity to learn the makeup technique YOU want! This workshop is totally open for you to design what your students want to learn. This workshop is excellent for drama classes with upcoming productions.

Facial Hair Application
Do you have students that are interested in professional facial hair application? This workshop is great for more experienced students. Our instructor will teach students how to prepare the crepe hair, apply and style/cut. This workshop is excellent for drama class!

- $185 one block (90min) instructional fee
- $0.85 mileage to and from your school and Theatre Garage
- $10 makeup use per student, this is for makeup use ONLY during the workshop, makeup is NOT left behind. Demo workshops have a flat rate (minimum is $200/workshop).
